There’s something special about having a corner of your home that gives you permission to make a mess, try an idea, and simply create.
Years ago, this office was that place for me.
It was where so many of my early DIY projects started—where I could sit down with an idea, pull out my supplies, experiment, photograph the process, and sometimes figure things out completely as I went.

A Space Made for Creating
When I designed this room, I wanted it to feel like more than an office. It needed to be somewhere I actually wanted to spend time.
A creative workspace doesn't necessarily need to be perfectly styled or have every supply tucked away. For me, it was about surrounding myself with things that inspired me and creating enough room for ideas to happen.

Where the DIYs Happened
Looking back at these photos now feels a little like opening a time capsule.
So many of the projects I've been revisiting here on Flowers & Folk began in this room. It was a place for experimenting with materials, learning new skills and making things simply because I wanted to see if I could.
And really, that spirit hasn't changed much.
The spaces may change and the things I'm making may look different, but I've always loved the process of taking an idea and turning it into something tangible.

Take the Full Tour
I filmed a little tour of the space at the time, so rather than trying to describe every corner, I'll let the original video do that.
Watch the office tour below for a little peek inside the space where so many of my early projects came to life.
