Bar Cart Essentials

I’ve had bar cart envy for a while now, it’s kind of hard to ignore all the beautifully styled and well stocked bar carts out there on Pinterest.  I love mixing up cocktails for friends when they come over and it always gets a bit messy when not everything is in one spot.  I recently rearranged my office and created the perfect spot for a bar cart which gives me something nice to look at, although it can be a little distracting when Friday afternoon rolls around.

Since my office is very simple and is still transitioning style wise, I wanted to create a simple and inexpensive solution.  I used to work at IKEA and I just can’t kick my IKEA addiction when shopping for furniture.  So I chose the BYGEl as my starter bar cart.  It’s only $30 and I figured I can always upgrade in the future.

The gold finished bar carts are so popular right now and I also found a really cool IKEA Hackhere that shows a gold spray painted version of the same bar cart.

Here are a few of my favorite carts under $400.

The search for barware is endless and can be a bit confusing if you don’t make a variety of cocktails.  I think if you have the basic cork screw, bottle opener and glassware you’re just fine.  But, if you want to impress your friends here are some stylish tools that are good for mixing up all cocktails.

Now the fun part, styling.  My favorite way to style my bar cart is with fresh herbs and fruit, and it’s the best way to dress up a drink too.  I think even pretty liquor bottles can add a little something to your cart.  It’s also always fun to have straws and other accessories to add a little charm.  Here are some fun accessories.
